The booklet of Abramelin tells the tale of an Egyptian mage named Abramelin, or Abra-Melin, who teaches a method of magic to Abraham of Worms, a German Jew presumed to have lived from c.1362 - c.1458. The magic defined within the booklet was once to discover new lifestyles within the nineteenth and twentieth centuries because of Mathers' translation, The booklet of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, its import in the airtight Order of the Golden sunrise, and later in the mystical procedure of Thelema (adapted from the philosophy of François Rabelais in 1904 via Aleister Crowley).
